Face Lift
Despite the abundance of new methods for facial skin rejuvenation through technology and the continuous development of milder renewal techniques, when dealing with sagging along the jawline, wrinkled neck, deep nasolabial folds, drooping cheeks and cheekbones, as well as the presence of a double chin, the gold standard remains surgical facelift or rhytidectomy, as it is the only way to address all these issues simultaneously, with results that last over time.
The face and neck lift manages to improve both the skin texture and the sagging of the aforementioned areas. Depending on the extent of the sagging, the appropriate surgical technique is selected.
Methods and Areas of Application
Indicated in cases of limited facial skin laxity.
The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia or sedation if the problem is minor, and lasts approximately 2–3 hours.
A small incision is made in front of the ear, with limited skin detachment. Absorbable sutures are then placed in the deeper tissues (SMAS plication) to achieve lifting. Excess skin is removed, significantly improving existing wrinkles. To enhance the results, especially the skin texture, the procedure can be combined with fat and stem cell transfer to affected areas, achieving a complete restoration of lost volume.
A key advantage of these procedures is that the incisions can be hidden within the hair.
The only visible incision is around the ear, which is minimally noticeable.
Full Face & Neck Lift / MACS Lift
Indicated for cases with greater laxity in the midface and neck.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 4–5 hours. The incision starts within the hairline (temporal region), then passes through or in front of the ear, and can extend behind the ear and into the scalp.
Next, almost the entire facial and neck skin is lifted, followed by the placement of absorbable sutures to elevate the deep tissues (SMAS plication) back to their youthful position.
Sometimes, a small incision under the chin is necessary to optimally adjust the fat and platysma muscle. The results of this technique can be further enhanced with neck liposuction.
Finally, only the excess skin is removed without tension, resulting in a firm and youthful face and neck. Due to the lack of tension on the skin, the scars are exceptionally discreet—so much so that months later, one can pull their hair back without worrying about visible scars.
After the Surgery
Full recovery from a facelift takes approximately 10–15 days. After the first 10 days, a return to work is possible, and in the following days, a gradual return to full activity occurs.
Combination Procedures
The results generally last between seven and ten years.
