Open Rhinoplasty<\/strong><\/p>\n

The open rhinoplasty method allows greater flexibility and surgical precision. It is used in cases requiring detailed modification of the nasal tip (for example, if the tip is asymmetrical or oversized), in severe post-traumatic nasal bone damage (e.g., after an accident), in revision surgeries to correct issues from previous rhinoplasties, and in congenital deformities.<\/p>\n

In open rhinoplasty, in addition to small incisions inside the nostrils, a small incision is made on the columella (the tissue between the nostrils). Various grafts\u2014from the septum, ear cartilage, rib, or scalp\u2014can be used by the plastic surgeon to address even the most complex reconstructive challenges.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that despite the access that open rhinoplasty provides, intervention is limited only to what is necessary. \nA plaster or acrylic splint is placed on the nose, and mild bruising around the eyes is common. Gauze is inserted into the nostrils, remaining in place for 48 hours, while the splint is removed after 7 days.<\/p>\n

Minor bruising around the eyes subsides within 6\u201310 days, allowing the patient to resume daily activities. Sea bathing is allowed after 15 days, and vigorous physical activity should be avoided for approximately 5 weeks.<\/p>\n
