Carbon Peel – Hollywood Peel
The Carbon Peel is a non-invasive and completely painless skin treatment based on the powerful ALMA-Q laser. It addresses a wide range of skin imperfections and issues without side effects, with minimal downtime and immediate results. Often referred to as the “Hollywood Peel,” it is a favorite among celebrities—especially in the USA—before red carpet appearances.
This treatment is ideal for all skin types but is particularly beneficial for dull skin, enlarged pores, blackheads, and all types of acne-prone skin.
The Treatment Procedure
First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed in preparation for the treatment, and then a layer of specially formulated activated carbon mask is applied, enhancing the photothermal and photoacoustic effects on which the procedure is based.
The laser treatment consists of two stages. In the first stage, the long pulse of the Nd:YAG laser is used to heat the water molecules in the mask, allowing the activated carbon to penetrate deeply into the pores and integrate into the skin.
Immediately afterward, the Q-Switched laser is applied. The carbon particles absorb large amounts of energy and break down, removing dead skin cells, sebum, toxins, and impurities that were bound to the carbon molecules.
In addition to deep exfoliation and skin resurfacing, controlled thermal damage at the dermal-epidermal junction is induced, which reduces pore size and shrinks sebaceous glands, aiming to decrease sebum production. This photothermal effect stimulates fibroblasts to increase collagen production, diminishing fine lines and early signs of skin aging.
After the Treatment
Return to work or daily activities is immediate, as no downtime is required, and the results are instantly visible. There may be slight redness for a few minutes, but it disappears without leaving any marks. For this reason, the treatment can be safely performed at any time of the year.
