Muscle-Relaxing – Anti-Wrinkle Injectable Botulinum Toxin Therapy
The most effective, popular, and frequently performed injectable anti-aging treatment today.
Its action temporarily blocks the release of a chemical (acetylcholine) from nerve cells, which causes movement of the facial muscles, thereby preventing the formation of wrinkles during the duration of the drug’s effect.
This injectable treatment eliminates fine and deeper dynamic wrinkles caused by facial muscle movements in various areas of the face, such as:
- Crow’s feet or wrinkles around the eyes
- Forehead wrinkles
- Wrinkles between the eyebrows
- Cheek wrinkles
- Skin laxity of the neck and facial contour
Additional indications for Botox treatment include:
- Hypertrophy of the masseter muscles
- Relief of migraines
The Application Procedure
Botox has a quick and virtually painless application process, with relatively low cost, and requires repeat treatments every 4–6 months.
Stopping the treatment at any point does not cause complications. In fact, individuals who have undergone the therapy for 1–2 years may notice a gradual elimination of fine wrinkles for up to 2 years. Over time, there is a clear improvement in the depth, length, and number of wrinkles because the skin has had a period of “rest” during the applications.
There is no ideal age to start treatments. If treatments begin before wrinkles become permanent, the results are excellent and completely natural.
Hyperhidrosis Treatment
Special mention should be made of the use of Botox to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) occurring in the palms, soles, and underarms. This condition can be very bothersome, and Botox provides the fastest and safest method of treatment.
The session lasts only 10–20 minutes, during which multiple superficial and carefully controlled doses are injected into the areas affected by hyperhidrosis. These injections temporarily paralyze the sweat glands, preventing them from receiving signals to produce sweat.
Results are noticeable within the first 2–3 days, and by 15 days after treatment, sweat reduction can reach up to 90%. The effect typically lasts about 6 months but can extend up to a year, depending on the individual.
It is important to note that Botox in these cases blocks excessive sweating without interfering with normal sweat production.
Baby Botox
This essentially involves the application of botulinum toxin to a youthful face (men and women from around 20–25 years old) with the aim of maintaining a fresh appearance and slowing the formation of expression lines.
It is applied when the first fine, non-permanent lines appear and effectively prevents the development of forehead and eye wrinkles. There is no strict age limit, but it is more effective in younger individuals, as its action is limited on already established wrinkles.
